Kentucky
Workers’ Comp Lawyer

Your rights after a work injury

Medical treatment. You have the right to medical treatment for your work injury. Your employer’s workers’ comp insurance company must pay for all treatment that is reasonable and necessary.

Lost income. If you can’t work while you recover, you may be entitled to pay for your lost income. After a week off work, the insurance company must pay you two-thirds of the average wages you earned before you got hurt.

Permanent injury. If you have any permanent injury or impairment, you may be entitled to compensation for it and to future medical treatment, even if you go back to work.

Two-year deadline. You can lose your right to compensation for a permanent impairment and to future medical care if you don’t settle your claim or file a formal claim with the Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims within two years. That is two years from the day you were injured. NOTE: (Your case may fit within an exception call for details… (859) 233-0705).
